Lordi is a Finnish hardrock and heavymetal band, founded in 1992 by singer, songwriter and costume designer Mr. Lordi (Tomi Petteri Putaansuu). The group is known for wearing monstrous masks and using horror elements and pyrotechnics during concerts and in music videos. They gained international fame in 2006, winning the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Hard Rock Hallelujah.”
