Closterkeller - Klub koncertowy B90

Closterkeller

Closterkeller is one of the most recognizable bands on the Polish gothic scene, having formed in Warsaw in 1988. The group, fronted by the charismatic Anja Orthodox, has gained recognition for its unique blend of gothic rock with elements of alternative and new wave music. The band’s lyrics, often written by Orthodox, deal with introspective, mystical and romantic themes that blend perfectly with melancholic melodies.

Closterkeller’s debut album, “Purple,” was released in 1990 and quickly gained cult status among fans of gothic rock. Since then, the band has released numerous albums that cemented its position on the scene, including “Blue,” “Graphite” and “Aurum.” Each brought new sounds while maintaining the group’s distinctive, atmospheric style.

Closterkeller is also known for its intense, emotional concerts, which are often transformed into full-blown musical and theatrical performances, offering audiences not only music, but also an unforgettable stage experience. Anja Orthodox, with her expressive, deep voice, is not only the heart of the band, but also an icon of the Polish music scene, inspiring successive generations of musicians and listeners.
