SÓLSTAFIR

Solstafir is an Icelandic musical band, founded in 1995 in Reykjavik. The group is primarily known for its distinctive sound, blending elements of post-rock, post-metal, and progressive rock with Icelandic folk inspirations, alongside lyrics based on Icelandic legends and nature.

Initially, Solstafir experimented with black metal, but over the years, their music evolved into a more melodic and experimental sound. Their albums, such as “Svartir Sandar” (2011) and “Ótta” (2014), have gained critical acclaim for their atmosphere and emotional depth.

Solstafir is also renowned for their spectacular concerts, which are often filled with a moody atmosphere and theatrical elements. The band enjoys recognition both in Iceland and abroad and is frequently mentioned as one of the most intriguing groups in the European music scene.
