From August 6 to 11, 2024, the Octopus Film Festival will plunge its audience into the dark corners of genre cinema and the most fascinating places of Gdańsk for the seventh time. We will gradually unveil the festival’s program over the next six weeks, but we are proud to announce that this year’s edition will be the biggest yet in terms of the number of screenings, special guests, and venues where you can watch genre cinema gems throughout the week of August.
During the festival, viewers will have the opportunity to see the most intriguing genre film premieres and choose the best one as part of the Main Competition. Retrospectives of renowned filmmakers will offer a new perspective on the history of cinema, and original thematic cycles will allow for a deeper understanding of trends and directions in cinema. The program also includes unbridled special screenings, interactive workshops, meetings with filmmakers, and masterclasses as part of the Octopus Industry section. Additionally, young viewers will find something for themselves in the “Little Octopi” series, which will feature specially prepared screenings for them.
