Octopus Film Festival 2023

From August 8-13, Octopus Film Festival will catch in its tentacles for the sixth time the industrial spaces of Gdansk, such as the shipyard or the buzzing holiday energy of Elektryków Street, flooding you with a sea of genre cinema and unique film experiences.

There will be no shortage of original Octopus gems, such as a Séance hidden until the very end shrouded in location mystery or a Séance with live voiceover. Once again, you'll have the opportunity to watch the most interesting genre premieres (and choose the best of them) thanks to the Main Competition; look at the history of cinema in a different way thanks to retrospectives of acclaimed filmmakers; take a look at titles presented in original thematic series; attend the most unabridged special screenings; and take part in unique workshops and meetings with filmmakers.

However, Octopussy is constantly evolving. At the sixth edition, for the first time, you'll see the best short films at Octopus Shorts - the International Short Film Competition - selected from more than 300 titles from around the world, and you'll be able to join industry events at Octopus Industry. Octopus will also reach out its tentacles for the youngest viewers, offering them a brand new children's genre cinema series!
