In December Gdańsk will host the 7th edition of SpaceFest – a festival of psychedelia celebrating guitar distortions, noise drones and all other weird sounds created under the influence of mysterious substances from space. Traditionally, fans of new psychedelia, Krautrock, space-rock and shoegaze will have their musical palates catered for. This time we’re entering an entirely new orbit: our new venue is Klub B90! SpaceFest! is not your typical festival. For 7 years now we’ve been trying to expand the traditional festival formula, introducing such elements as workshops, cooperation with foreign musicians under the Pure Phase Ensemble moniker, competitions for young bands, publishing albums with music created during the festival and the cheerful integration between SpaceFest’s musicians and audience. Some of the artists who played for us in recent years include: Dead Skeletons, Silver Apples, Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre), The Telescopes, The KVB, Mark Gardener (Ride), The Oscillation, Death Hawks, Simon Scott (Slowdive), Ścianka, Damo Suzuki, Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab).
