1 DECEMBER 2014 - GOGOL BORDELLO /USA/, MARIACHI EL BRONX /USA/
Gogol Bordello returns to Poland! For those of you that haven’t had the chance to get carried away by their live music, there is an opportunity ahead – this December the band will play in Gdańsk, Kraków and Warsaw!
The composition of this New York group is equally unusual to the music they play. A mixture of gipsy punk rock, reggae, folk, and orient music is a truly explosive combination, especially performed by such an extraordinary team. The band consists of eight immigrants, mainly from Eastern Europe, but also from more distant parts of World, like Israel, Ethiopia and Ecuador. The front man of this ethnic team is Eugene Hütz, who emigrated with his family from Ukraine to the United States of America after the Chernobyl disaster. During this time he also lived in Poland for a while, which made him exceptionally fond of our country. As a result, he gladly visits Poland and always gets along well with the audience, strengthening the bond with his fans. During the concert at Stodoła three years ago, Eugene entered the stage in a t-shirt with the image of Bolek i Lolek – the characters from a classic Polish cartoon – as a token of sympathy to our fellow citizens.
Gogol Bordello is due to visit KLUB 90 in Gdańsk (1.12), Kraków’s Rotunda Klub a day later (2.12) and Klub Stodoła in Warsaw (4.12).
