Amorphis is a Finnish musical band that formed in 1990 in Helsinki. The group is primarily known for its distinctive blend of death metal, doom metal, and folk metal, with progressive elements.
Initially, the band focused on a death metal sound, but over the years, it evolved towards a more melodic and experimental style. With the release of the album “Tales from the Thousand Lakes” in 1994, Amorphis gained international fame by merging heavy sounds with folk elements and stories inspired by Finnish mythology.
